Purchase and cancellation policy

1. Purchase

All our students are entitled to receive confirmation of enrolment and a student handbook by email prior to the start of the course.

Both academic progress and integration into the environment will be monitored throughout the course, whether that be integration into the accommodation booked or the social environment within the country.

Given the diversity of students and that there are students with special needs, we try to adapt so that no student finds themselves limited in terms of participation in different activities offered by the centre, both within our classrooms and in the outdoors activities offered.

2. Our courses

All of the courses taught by SevillaMN Speak are available both in person and online. Paying for external exams is the responsibility of the student, it is not included in the price of the course.

Price: €30.

The main objective of staying with a host family is to enjoy the family atmosphere and integrate yourself into the Spanish life and customs. It is important to meet and get to know all of the family, and learn and follow the rules of the house.

The student has the right to have their own copy of the keys. The student will be responsible if the keys are lost or stolen. In no case should the address be written down anywhere near the keys. The student’s room will have a bed (with bedding, including blankets in winter), a chair, a desk, a wardrobe and a lamp to study. They will also have access to the communal areas in the house (eg. bathroom, dining room, living room and terrace (if there is one)) following the norms of the family. In winter there’ll be a heater for the student’s room, and a fan in summer. The room will be cleaned and the bedding will be changed once a week. Sheets and towels are included. The student can do laundry once a week too.

The student should feel like part of the family so it’s essential that they eat together. The schedules of both parties need to be taken into account here, so it would be a good idea to agree on mealtimes in the first few days of the student’s arrival. Food should follow a balanced diet within the traditional Andalusian cuisine, with a healthy quantity of fish, meat (with the exception of vegetarian students), vegetables, fruit, cereals and dairy products.

If the student wants to extend their stay, they should do so via SevillaMN Speak. Potential future stays with the same host family (for the student or their acquaintances) should also be booked via SevillaMN. If a family is hosting more than one student at the same time, the student has the right to know the nationality of the other student to prevent two people from the same country staying there at the same time.

Communication, respect, empathy and flexibility are fundamental. If you have any problems, queries or suggestions about the accommodation, please get in touch with us.

If the student is not happy with their accommodation, SevillaMN Speak can organise a change at no additional cost within the first two days.

Any accommodation change requested by the student without due cause has an additional cost of €50 to be paid by the student. This change will only be possible if there is alternative accommodation available with the same conditions as the contracted accommodation.

SevillaMN Speak is in no way responsible for any problems related to co-living at the accommodation.

4. General cancellation conditions

  • The student has the right to withdraw from the course up to one month before the start date. Any money they have paid will be returned with the exception of the money paid to reserve their space, which covers the administrative costs of reserving a place.
  • The course costs will not be reimbursed to the student once a course has started.
  • Students are obliged to look after the academic materials and are responsible for any damage they cause.
